AbstractThe stress at the end surface of the punch in the cold extrusion of a U-shaped hollow cylinder
(acup) is determined by modeling with regression equations. The results of such extrusion with active and reac-
tive friction at blankmatrix contact are compared. With active friction, the punch life is greater by a factor of
1.5.
