Abstract—Structure, density, water-absorbing ability, open porosity, and corrosion behavior of bulk specimens
synthesized from Ti–Ni powder blends by the method of selective laser sintering were studied experimentally.
It was shown that the sintered products have a developed porosity (to 40%) with a characteristic structural size
of 2–2.5 mm, a low density (about 3.3–4.1 g/cm3), and high passivation susceptibility in acid and alkaline
media. The potential of using such specimens as implants is discussed.
